1226 is on its third go round...no bids, with a BIN of £600!

Now if I was a complete bastard I'd buy that...

he sold another copy only one month ago:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251022528966

(mmm...)

a couple of months ago he sold also an AIFL copy:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/250993106622

would like if some of you who are expert in the matter could help us in detecting if they are true copies.

Let's see ...

- Same exact item sold 4 weeks ago? That seems suspicious right there. If it's a different copy, then why are the photos exactly the same?

- Fuzzy photo of the 001303? Why?

- No evidence of the blue "AVERTISSEMENT" placard?

- If it's "Absolutely Mint" why is there an obvious fold in the lower right corner?

I wouldn't go near that with a barge pole ...

(That said, the record does have the serrated edge, so maybe it's not a boot)

[0006] - In a 1994 interview with Jon Savage, Hooky claims that Ian Curtis received #0006. (http://www.jonsavage.com/film/peter-hook/)
so,ian's in dire need of cash then ,poor bugger,if life wasn't hard enough for him....>smirk< !if it is an og copy, wouldn't you add that to the listing?"i'm selling ian's copy...blablabla ?" or the hookster's memory is crap !weird situation !

arrrgh - what a bloody crap with this release - really hard to get one - i watch out for over 18 yrs. and always this item is a little too expensive to buy or not worth, for me of course! this was the first item i placed a bid on ebay in '99 or so and i was slightly outbid, the item goes for 155 USD....
...and now
multiple listings of the same number in a short time (!) or fakes (!) or crazy starting price!!!
the item last month (no. 21) was sold for 534 EUR and is offered now on discogs for 1350 EUR and the resell is because the seller want a higher number (!)  and now i read here about the history about the no. 1303 – i give up...

I have No. 207.  It was purchased in 1980 off the NME or Sounds Classifieds for £25.  I've been a huge fan of JD from right back when I first heard them on John Peel.  I was also lucky enough to see them play, when they supported the Buzzcocks on their 1979 tour.

I just found this site and it makes fascinating reading!

I have number  334, bought directly using a postal order.
Will be selling it at some point in the near future, as well as Fac-2.
I guess Ebay is the place to start.

Amazing to see so many people collecting these wonderful pieces of vinyl.

I have number 1279. Have had it since 1985 when I bought it off a guy I worked with near Watford. The cover has the usual browned glue with the tracing paper that holds the vinyl and inserts coming a way a little bit. However, the main problem is on the inside fold out cover the top of the middle page has at some point stuck to the other two pages and so there is a 10 cm wide by 2 cm deep patch with the writing gone on both left and right side. Very annoying! The outside cover is in good condition as is the vinyl itself and I have all the inserts and bags.

Any idea what it should be worth, taking into account the damaged inside cover?

due to it's rarity you can reckon with quite a lot of bidders.my estimate is 100 quid + !

This is a fascinating topic. I particularly like the way someone has cataloged details on all the known copies like lost family members. Great work! In two minds as to whether to sell 1279 at the moment. Always thought it would look great framed on the wall as a piece of art...

if there isn't a dire need of getting cash quick due to a 'life or death'
situation>smirk<,regret of parting with this unique document will be imminent, sleepless nights whilst twisting in your sweat....mumbling
repetitively:"why?why didn't i rob a bank?why didn't i sell a kidney instead (getting an 'organ' seems to be easier than getting hold of JD's SS!!!!!!lol'ly)?i'ld rather have never possessed it than being forced to part with it!just kidding mate,i feel your dilemma...just do the right thing (& another 'smirk'!) !
oh,& welcome btw,to this outstanding (yes, this one is the best!!!!!) JD
fan-site.posting some pic's of your copy would be great.......

not sure if anyone has said this before, but according to Hooky's book, 1578 is the last time the French beat the British in a war, which he seemed to take as a snide/humorous attack..

Okay, thanks for keeping this thread warm, all.

I've finally woken up from my slumber and added added #1226, 1303/0006 (these look dodgy, as RiotNrrrd suspects), 207 (missed the photo, alas), 1121, 0334, 1279, 5085 (with the rip in the front cover that's been 'repaired'), and 0334.  Wish TMW (seller of 0334) the best of luck, I'm sure somebody will meet the reserve on that one (my own copy is #1317).

Well it is going to sell now in the next 20 hours, as its passed the reserve. I am getting quite conflicted now about letting it go.
I have kept it so long that it feels weird.

Thanks for keeping an eye out, slumpy.  Updated the site...

Looks like it's not the first time sidraven is selling this.  Wonder if he got cold feet last time or if the buyer didn't fulfill his end of the bargain, 1000 quid is a lot for anything!
