I obtained reasonable grades at school & college; I'm told my intelligence is slightly above average (and I emphasize slightly)...but still I do not get this. Will someone here please explain what on earth is the point of another bleeding Sordide reissue? What is the point?

'they'(whoever they are?) believe there are enough JD junkies staggering around (imagine a bleak night around a shady recordstore) that need a 'new' fix.....et voila, turn the poison 'blue' & you got'em by the short & curlies!

slumpy: updated with your latest sightings.

The owner of #66 contacted me via email so I posted details about his including some pics.

dmxi:  I don't see a number for the latest German one being sold by svenj690511.  He took a photo of the wrong side of the blue card, it looks like.  So I contacted him, I'll update you if I hear back...

In response to the happy one's posting re Sven's sordide he says it is 1340
That's on the list as having been sold by him for 750 euros earlier in June.
Not sure what's going on, unless buyer did not pay up.

The image in the listing shows # 935, not 38. [confused]

I am the owner of the number 38.
The picture on ebay was the first SS (n° 935) he sold 5 years ago:
http://www.popsike.com/JOY-DIVISION-Sordide-Sentimental-Light-und-Blindheit/110423343657.html
I wrote to him and he said to me that he bought in the early 80's in Brussels five copies[crazy] brought back from London by a mate...& forgot them until 2009.
My copy is like new, in an immaculate condition...never played, stored with passion!...

Such a shame - good copy in excellent condition, bought in the U.S. at Wax Trax! which adds to its provenance (IMHO - as a Yank it does, anyway).

Spoiled by the high price being asked for one that's apparently missing the blue card.  [redface]

weird numbering ethos though....gristle apparently even without.

Hi Mr Interzone, I feel like we are brothers with my #39 [smile]

That's one beautiful copy you have there, and with a low number too, got to be the pick of the bunch I would say, a nice nest-egg for the kids [smile]

Just had great fun reading the posts regarding SS. If anyone is still keeping the register up to date, feel free to add this...

Does anyone know the whereabouts of No. 835. Perhaps you owned it in the past. I have the cover, but not the record. Let me explain.

I was at a car boot sale (flea market) in Cambridge, UK, in the summer of 2013.  Lurking in a box of records was unmistakably SS in a protective sleeve. Knowing it’s significance I almost passed out on the spot.

I then noticed a Post-It note stuck to the plastic sleeve saying “Cover only, no record”. This took a few seconds to compute, and sure enough, when I was able to examine it, it was the cover only, no record, no inserts, but obviously an original with the brown glue, which I was already familiar with.

“Where’s the record for this, mate”, I said. “Dunno, he said, if you can get one, it’s worth a lot by all accounts. “Is it? I replied, trying to sound half-interested. The seller went on “Yeah. I  bought a job lot of records a while back, and inside the sleeve to Closer, there was that. Make me an offer if you want. You could always track down the record itself and put them together.”

Well, I was way ahead of him there. I left the car boot after giving him a tenner and have since spent far too much time than is healthy searching for its long lost 7” brother. Someone help me, PLEASE!

I have an original SS single. It is numbered 510. I can remember to this day seeing it advertised in the NME under a record shop listing for Small Wonder Records in Walthamstow London E17 (now an estate agents). The NME used to do that in the back pages with shops such as Small Wonder and Bruces Records in Edinburgh. I rang them up to see if they had a copy which they did and I sent off a postal order for £3.20 in total inc. postage.
