Have a listen here.

More dodgy stuff, must have something to do with the unscrupulous Ozit, same artwork style, claims that it's official (it definitely isn't), mentions of Martin Hannett and his tapes etc etc. Maybe Cleopatra licensed this from Ozit?

LWTUA apart seems to derive from the Pennine recording, the bass sounds a bit different (probably has been recently double tracked).

Transmission is the Warsaw version sped up (and now claimed to be a Martin Hannett production) - Ozit again with the dishonesty?

I would avoid this piece of dishonest crap, you are buying into it if you fall for it.

I spoke to someone at the weekend who has had dealings with Cleopatra and told him about all the dealings at Ozit. He said Cleopatra are one of the more honourable companies he had to deal with - and if Ozit and that crew are involved -  they may have conned Cleopatra into believing it was honest (allegedly in my humble opinion)

I have been dealing with Cleopatra for 15 years, and they are an extremely honest label and I know the owner personally. I just had a quick listen to the samples, the version of Transmisison is not just been sped up, the drums are different (from the 7" version) overdubbed. I can't hear properly form the poor audio sample what the hell they/ve done.

As for love will tear us apart, it also has different sounding added snare, with different accents. The extra bass part is weird, I'm thinking it's also been faked.

What I have said on another thread is that what they have done with "Transmission" is actually quite good - they have sped up the vocals and guitar on the "Warsaw" session to match the drums on the 7", but kept the same pitch - this technology would not have existed in 1980!

Again - as I've said before - why couldn't they have advertised this as a 2009 remix or revamped version - bringing Hannett's name into it shoots the credibility of the record down in flames straightaway.

It's part of Ozit's obsession with Hannett, despite the fact that what they've done in his name is a travesty.

Just got back from Boston and they had this for sale in every Newbury Comics store in the city. i wondered what it was - nearly bought it, but the mention of Hannett mixes put me off!

Having held back for a long, long time I have finally added these controversial 7" and 12" releases to the bootleg listings. The big concern is that, over a long period of time, the adulterated "remixes" of original Joy Division tracks will become legitimised and start to be considered as originals. Indeed, from the posts above, it appears this process has possibly started to happen by people acting in good faith ...

You should move the Radiation RSD releases into the bootleg area too. Totally unofficial.
