This is bad in every aspect. Lame title, randomly chosen pics from other dates, plus a recording nobody wants or needs.

And it's missing the encore!

The pic of Hooky is also from New Order...

Worst. Bootleg. Ever.

A piss-poor re-issue of the already highly redundant bootleg genially entitled "Ceremony" (which -oh lordy!- contained the ultra-rare encore).

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Joy-Division-Ceremony-Clear-transparent-vinyl-poster-/351288448357?pt=Dischi_Vinile_33_giri_12_&hash=item51ca6c5565

Everything about it was nice, special vinyl & poster blah blah blah, except the actual music contained (because already available since 1981).

WHO among you would buy THAT?

The poster's quite interesting...looks like one of the photos from the Lyceum where Ian's playing the synth.

But why bootleg an officially available recording?

Exactly, you're stating the obvious.
But the actual problem is not a release such as this. The problem is what drives miserable souls to produce crap like this. No one could convince me it's because of money, because with Joy Division they'd be betting on the wrong horse for sure. Do Beatles, do Bobby Dylan, do Jimi, but why a band that had such a short lifespan and had NO commercial appeal to speak of? For crying out loud!
Back in the day (mid 80s to early 90s) there were JD bootlegs because the people behind them mostly cared about the band. Yes, many vinyl releases looked utterly clumsy and none had a quality close to the current-day soundstreams on youtube. But I remember the excitement at record fairs going through the JD section. 'We' needed them! It was like some kind of fix. Those were different times. But this, this is a travesty so bad. And I can't tell you how much I hate it.

And here's more rubbish for the gullable.
The only redeeming factor is the artwork, a cover pic which I can't remember having seen before...

Here's some more redundant rubbish, changing hands for 50 bucks. On clear vinyl for the murky of mind.

That's 2 crappy bootlegs from Peel Sessions. I think the JD one came free with the Warsaw bootleg album. Their existence might have been excused before 1986/87, before these sessions were officially available. But nowadays they're indeed very useless and crap. Anyone asking money for those should be ashamed of themselves.

Not sure I understand the problem with those two bootlegs...the Joy Division one came with the Warsaw album and at the time was the only way of obtaining the Peel session - probably true of the New Order one too. If someone wants to ask money for them and someone else is willing to pay then everything's just fine and dandy surely? It's not as if they are recent reissues and it's no worse than people selling copies of Live Transmission, Russell Club or any other early/mid 80s boot that has since been officially released.

That's why I don't dismiss them per sé. They were once (ergo, 30+ years ago) of some relevance and therefore they are not as disgusting as the recent releases from above.
It's only very misleading to call something that has been bootlegged to death as Peel Sessions a "white label demo". That's almost like selling a dandelion as if it were a yellow rose.

Well they're still of relevance because (for instance) the Warsaw bootleg isn't complete without the single - they're historical artefacts, not 'disgusting' at all and nothing like the recent regurgitations of the same old same old. Maybe the seller's listed them as "white label demos" because he doesn't know what they are as opposed to trying to mislead...caveat emptor, anyway.

This one wins the award for ultimate bad taste though (and maybe someone should post a pic of it in this thread, because it's so horrible, you almost wouldn't believe it).

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Joy-Division-Join-Our-Dead-Souls-England-1979-Ltd-Box-Set-10-Copies-/291480735012?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item43dd9b0d24

(Never knew one could produce a limited run of 10 copies. Or maybe the other 490 copies will be released as soon as the first 10 poor sods have bitten the hook).
