A big claim...even with sufficient evidence i can't see where this should lead to?!?! I would dismiss this but someone is going into great lenghts to 'create' a point.nonetheless the video is 'entertaining' but what will be the end of it? I believe it was stated that there is an alternative UP recording which this chap wishes to release (?) housed in one of the proposed sleeve designs...wonder how & why he wants to pull this off? Extra ordinary claims need irrefutible evidence which would be interesting to 'evaluate'.

I don't think it is intended to lead anywhere - Just a piece of 'entertainment'/ possible 'interest' .... there are a couple more videos on that channel that may give a context for its coming into existence...

I may be adding two and two and making six - but I believe that this is what twentyfourhours was referring to a short while back on this forum.

I have difficulty believing this story. To me it seems a little too convenient for this to emerge in the times of online hoaxes and JD myth making in general. Why did no one know about this in the 80's or 90's? No word about any of this in any written documents or books.

There are lots of things that could have happened, but they didn't. The sleeve that was done was far and away the best sleeve there ever could have been.

Hello Lee, Yes I am, and no I was not twenty-four hours. I just joined the forum today because a friend who came on here to promote my youtube channel mentioned that a few people were 'grumbling' about the video. So I just thought I would pop up here to see for myself

You may be able to answer this question.....there has been a difference of opinion as to whether Ian was a City or United fan - could you confirm which - or didn't it bother Ian that much either way?

In early teen years he flitted from one to the other but 'supported' without much conviction...I recall we were all very excited by the 66 world cup....'world cup willie' hahaha... We went to old Trafford a few times...but never went to Maine Rd

Tony, if it is you, (and please forgive the scepticism in the question but this forum can be prone to the odd bit of bullshit - and that's just from me . Welcome aboard!

Hi & thanks for joining, tony...i hope you don't mind being 'bothered' with a couple of questions now & then, nothing too intimate just some things that concerning literature has not answered.for example, i was curious if ian was a theistic believer (catholic, if i'm not mistaken) due to his 'divine' exams or did he tend towards the fashioned agnosticismslashatheism? Thanks upfront...........d.

Keef, I have no problem regarding your scepticism
As I said... I am here because a friend told me there was a bit of grumbling about my video...
I do think this is a good place to promote my channel though...seems like people here enjoy creative thinking
dmxi, I don't mind being 'bothered' by your question - religion did not feature in Ian's day to day life...he was always interested in humanities and as a result did well in those subjects at school - he was agnostic.
Thanks for your welcome to the forum

Tony,
Did you ever get to see JD play live and if so what did you think of them?

Hi, yes I did. It's difficult to answer the question of what I thought of them...it was a long time ago... From the mid to late 70's I saw many bands, up to 4 each week in different London venues...I enjoyed the energy of the total event... Joy Division was always a slightly different experience because Ian was Ian...sounds a bit soppy maybe, but he was very much my brother...they did like to fill the space with a sound energy....I didn't have to pay an admission which was always a bonus .

Do you recall what gigs you saw? From the video it's interesting to note that you were due to meet Ian in Bournemouth but as we now know he was taken ill so presumably this is why it didn't happen but were you at this gig?

They would have been in London. No, regretfully I couldn't make it to Bournemouth. Did you ever get to see them?

No unfortunately not. I wasn't even aware of JD in 79/80 which is why I am always fascinated to hear from people that did and there a few of those lucky souls on this forum.

Tony, thanks for joining the forum. ... and welcome!:-)
Do you recall what sorts of "let's pretend we're...." games you and Ian played as children?
I also wonder, did you have an inkling Ian would become as famous as he did?
(I'm from the USA)
