I've just been talking about this on another thread. A fine little album, I ADORE this gig. Unhappily mine's not for sale (I bought it to replace my worn-out C-90 cassette, which I've had since 1983) but the best of British in finding your own copy.

Shame a better quality source never surfaced, as it does sound like it was a good show. I like the 2LP also.

Another bargain for the ones who saved money during isolation:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/JOY-DIVISION-lim-200-red-marbled-Vinyl-2LP-Die-Kalten-Winde-Des-Winters-2004-/392293461751

It is still cheaper than the $800 champ on discogs...

Crazy prices, but die kalten winde....d/lp should fetch as much as my "factory by the moonlight" do/lp...around £100-150 at least.

Frankly I don’t get it. Apart from a great set-list the Cologne show wasn’t that great and the recording is rather average. In my opinion, the best show in January 1980 was the one at the Effenaar, followed by the one in Brussels, which both excelled in having a great atmosphere as well as being well performed.
(Speaking of which: Where’s a proper re-issue of the Plan K show a.k.a. “Götterdämmerung”?)

This is the only pressing of the show, unlike all the other bootlegs over and over. Sure, quality isn't great, but most aren't. I really like this 2lp.

There’s a Japanese boot CD of this. Seems to have identical artwork. “Manufactured in Japan by Vai”.

I would never give a cent for JD CDs but too much for vinyl, but I'm not a bobo or hipster.

I got a copy of the disc with the same title. It’s a CDR which was, as it says, “Manufactured in Japan by Vai” on Galaxy Records. On the disc is a print of Ian behind the mic at the actual gig. The recording apears to be the one that was uploaded in 2016 to DIME.
For comparison I downloaded a different version, which sounds both worse and too fast, but with various differences, like more time before Atmosphere starts, and more mic talk by Ian before Glass.
I wonder what source was used on the 2LP. Was it that one?

By my ears, the Die Kalten Winde, the downloads sound slightly better, the LP sounds like mp3. You compare the original Factory by the moonlight from 2003, to the later re-issue from 2011 or whenever, huge quality difference (re-issue much better). The other difference is, original Factory by the Moonlight 'Sister Ray', is audience, and re issue is from 'Still'. Bootleg trivia
