"...the meteoric rise and fall..." - what rhetorical bullshit.

What f*****g fall? JD have never "fallen". They continue to be influential front runners to another generation.

Well Ian did kill himself, I'd call that a bit of a fall. I don't think the cover is implying that this once great band suddenly started releasing crap records.

Now if the same tag line were to appear on a New Order DVD case !!!!!!!

Meteoric rise?????

The most people Joy Division played to as a headline band was 1,200.

By the time of his death, Ian Curtis was by no means a rich man and none of their records had made the chart.

If this naff cliched phrase were to make sense it should be "Fall and Rise" - "Still" reached the Top 5 of the UK album charts in 1981, and the rest as they say is history.....

When I say "Fall and Rise", I do not equate Joy Division with Reggie Perrin.....

To me, the awfulness of this DVD cover illustrates how badly the release/marketing etc of this documentary has been cocked up.

Maybe the makers of this DVD should have employed our man Peter Saville to the design the cover !

The US edition of the documentary deserves a much better cover than the one above - which makes it look like one of those unauthorised Rock Milestones DVDs
