All the songs? Will they recreate "As You Said"? :-)
Any from the first demo - or - dare I say it - songs like "Lost", "Tension", "Reaction" etc.....?

Gotta say though - I really don't like the idea that Hooky proposes of a statue of Ian in the town. My own personal view of statues is that they should be restricted to evil tyrants - as over the passage of time they are inevitably covered in guano. Statues are for birds to crap on - and the subject of the statue should deserve to be crapped on. Ian definitely doesn't deserve that.

In their heyday it took JD only 40 minutes to make their point. Now Hook is going to reiterate it playing 48 songs. Good on him to make a stand for Macclesfield and promote local initiatives, but this is not a musical performance anymore, rather an iron man type endurance event, best suited for Cure fans.

Looks like he's missing out the Warsaw demo (apart from At A Later Date) plus the 'lost' songs like (err) Lost, Tension and Reaction.

I guess that The Drawback is also going to be missed out although to be honest I tried to work out what he'd be playing by counting up to 48 songs but in the end it seemed to much of an effort.

I saw him do Movement and PCL a couple of times and thought that Movement especially sounded fantastic but is this really necessary?

You can just about make it to 48 if you include all the songs that were officially released from Short Circuit through Closer & the flexi disc, adding in the 7 studio outtakes off Still + the three "new titles" of the 4CD box (Drawback + Ceremony + In A Lonely Place) + Sister Ray. Unless he is going to dig out "Pictures In My Mind" again, which The Light have already performed.
That's discounting the second versions of Love Will Tear Us Apart and She's Lost Control.

So yeah, no "Ideal Beginning" tracks + the other "lost" early compositions.

For this to work, he should really mix up the order of songs, instead of going for the chronological approach.

Well, it sold out in 24 Hours, I am just a couple of years too young to have ever Seen JD play, and IMO Hooky and the Light do a fantastic job, lots of effort and emotion goes into every performance...

I too think Peter Hook and the Light do a fantastic job recreating the Joy Division catalog. We know that just about every song is monumental and to have someone from the original band recreating them so faithfully is something that I personally am very grateful for. These songs deserve to be heard and I hope he brings all 48 of them to New York, where I now live.

Nah, I'll stick with watching posts on youtube afterwards. You know, those iPhone flicks with distorted sound and shakey movement. I'd probably still recognize the tunes.
