As promised a while back, I scanned and uploaded the second issue of Tidal Wave fanzine from 1980.

It includes a two page review of the "Closer" album.

Where was the photo of Ian with the Vox taken?

The photo is attributed to somebody called John Woolf but it doesn't say in the fanzine where it was taken. It might have been the Moonllght Club as that's where the fanzine writer saw Joy Division play in April 1980....

All the original issues are now available in an online archive. There's lots of Joy Division coverage from 1978 - 1980....

Thank you for posting these! It's sweet and jarring to remember typewriters and paste-up and copy shops.

This issue of Damaged Goods fanzine contains a review of Futurama 79 in Leeds, which was the only time I saw Joy Division live. I thought they were amazing, but the fanzine's authors give them a good slagging - a reminder that not everybody liked them at the time....

These are great.  Thanks for sharing (I know, I'm a bit late to the party!).

I miss those days of devoted fans going to the trouble of writing and typing up articles, getting them run through the works photocopier, advertising in the NME, MM etc.  Took some real dedication.  Not that today's fans aren't as dedicated; just that it must have taken a lot of effort to get stuff out in the hands of fans in those days.

I don't suppose anyone has scans of any of the Joy Division / New Order dedicated fanzines from back in the day (Standard, Factsheet, Decades, Last Orders etc.)?

Would be really great to see any of these.

Whoa, this is great stuff. Thank you.
Perspex, sometimes old-school fanzines pop up on eBay. I'll keep an eye out for any, and get them to scan if I can.
