I lived about 8 miles outside High Wycombe in a small village and by 10.45pm, when they still hadn't come on stage,  I had to leave to get my lift home!!! Fortunately I did see Joy Division 6 weeks later at the Rainbow otherwise I'd have been kicking myself for the rest of my life!

Killing Joke were a stunning support act that night in Wycombe I have to say.

Welcome Martin!  Can you remember what they played at the Rainbow?

Hi TJ - unfortunately it's all too long ago to remember a lot about the Rainbow - nearly 27 years! I do recall Ian collapsing mid song and 2 of the roadcrew coming on, picking him up and carrying/guiding him off stage. At the time of course we thought it was just theatrics.....within a few weeks it became cleaer what happened.

Best wishes

At least u were lucky enough to see JD play live Martin ....

...... even more so as at that gig at the Rainbow supporting The Stranglers, JD swopped places with S25, and thus came on first (as they had to get across to the Moonlight Club later that night) .....

You also may have witnessed the first airing of 'Decades' ......

Not much need for the bootleg now you can buy it! Apart from the soundcheck of A Means To An End that is omitted from Still, that is. I downloaded the A Certain Ratio portion of the night from dimeadaozen the other night, and it sounds dead good. Reminds me of a great one they had on BBC1 of them supporting The Undertones, must have been from the same period.

Yeah, I realised that when I went upstairs and checked the CD case (I've been going to sleep with it for the last couple of weeks!). The reason was that it was originally listed on Amazon et al as having no AMTAE and 2 x The Eternal, which is why it was planted in my head that there was a good reason to have the bootleg as well as the CD. So I looked again last night at both Amazon and Play and both still had the same error. In my tiredness I was forgetting that I'd heard it on the CD too.

Wow, I have Still and I can't stop listening to it, it's so cool you went to those gigs, I must say that I'm insanely jealous... but I am curious about something... did you met the band?
