The ones on popsike defiantly look suspicious. I wish people who knew they had real ones could post pics here. I’d like to compare what I have to those. I know the nice person above has posted theirs and there are some simiaties to the one I have. The unknown pleasures signed example was obtained by an actual appraiser on Antiques Roadshow or something like that. This signature and mine look very similar.

Well, one thing is for sure. If thee are all real then Ian didn’t really have a distinct signature. Looks like it changed a lot. Obviously, there are probably a lot of variables that played into why that happened.

Thanks! Yeah, any help would be appreciated. This group seems to be full of very nice people. I’ve enjoyed it so far all the way from Chicago.

What makes it hard for me to believe this sig is genuine is the straight line underneath. Such a display of self confindence doesn't seem typical of someone like Ian (at least, that's what I think). A signature forger however wouldn't hesitate to emphasize the 'authenticity' of this by underlining it.

I met the band at Edinburgh Odeon backstage supporting the Buzzcocks (1980 I think) and have both bands on a piece of paper. Buzzcocks on the left side and JD on the right side (you could actually take a pair of scissors down the middle and have each separate).

I once contacted the guy who wrote the blog on the $15000 story and although (having sent him a low res scan of the signatures) he offered confirmation they were genuine, I didn't really need that as I knew they were genuine.

Anyway, getting some value does appear to be very difficult, but if you know of anyone who might be interested then feel free to let me know.
