A bit of topic, but listening to this through halfway professional monitor-speakers I ask myself one more time: why do 5th generation cassette-copies of Joy Division gigs recorded with cheap and technical inferior equipment 35 years ago (mostly audience recordings) sound so much better than recordings like the one above.
No bass at all, the drums sound like paperboards, the vocals...

Probably because it was recorded way back in a huge hall, and with a mobile phone that's got a microphone the size of an ant. And I'm sure 1970s low-end is in fact technically superior to today's low-end equipment!
