I've been looking up a lot of Joy Division tabs lately, trying to learn some of their songs. I notice none of them seem to utilize capos.

Did none of them have capos, or does it just so happen that they didn't write any songs that utilized capos?

IMO, I dont think that the punk / new wave 'ethic' was really about fancy key changes or chord progressions or widdly solo's .... plus in the "traditional" sense, Barney wasnt the most accomplished guitarist ..... hence the heavy use of barre chords (typically E shaped) and standard tuning ....and the lack of need for any capo's

Cool shot of Captain Hook at London U.L.U. playing a barre on the old Shergold Marathon right here: http://www.shortscalebass.blogspot.co.uk/2012_03_01_archive.html

I watched 'New Order Story' again last night and saw that Gillian used a capo live for 'Everyone Everywhere'. I've never seen Bernard with one though.

Capos are for hippies and BOFS. (No) Futurists use harmonizers.
