    While i was trying to spend some money on eBay I found this in the Joy Division worldwide section.Item number: 150200223012 {its not a link }
       Its listed as Joy Division .  Roots .  Its an lp with 11 tracks from 11.7.79 As it is not in the bootleg section,I guess its a new release ?  And has this live recording ever been on vinyl before ?

This appears to be a new release. It's the first time this live recording has been released in any form as far as I know.

According to what it says on the back cover this is a "limited edition of 150 copies with poster". My copy doesn't have the poster, if anyone's got it I'd be interested to know what it looks like.

"The Day Of The Lords" seems to be another new release, it includes the London, Electric Ballroom 31/08/79 gig as well as Leeds, Roots Club 11/07/79.

    So what we appear to have now are two releases featuring Joy Division from The Roots Club in Leeds  11.07.1979. A sudden surge in that gigs availability,so what other shows might get a first taste of CD or vinyl release...no tapes though my cassette player is now kaput.!!!

The LP seems to be only available in German outlets and the CD is only available from Australian ones.

Wallflower, it depends on the recording used. Some are better then others.

They differ between LPs? That's efficient. I'm not trying to be snippy either; I honestly didn't know that the quality of each LP differs. There are two different recordings of the concert featured on this new bootleg. Is it the better or worse recording, or does that differ between each LP copy too?

I understand your confusion. The SoundQuality of the live recordings can differ from bootleg to bootleg. And what I mean is this; the LP they are talking about in this thread will use the same source, so the SoundQuality is consistent for this boot. But if there are 5 bootlegs that feature the Leeds recording, they can be different generations of the recording (obviously the lower the better) used for the bootlegs.

For arguments sake, lets look at the Paradiso Amsterdam Jan 11, 1980 gig. It’s the most bootlegged JD gig of all time. But for all of the bootlegs floating around for that gig, they all don’t sound the same. Some are late gen, some sound flat, some sound great.

As far as the Leeds gig in question, I believe there are two tapes. Not the one this site lists.

I have the LP, but have not compared it to the 'Day of the Lords' CD. And like Darkman says, there are different recordings, different mastering for LP than CD, so who knows.
