Just having a clear out and found a live tape of JD. "Band on the Wall or possibly Eric's" written on it. Sound quality is terrible. I'm sure it's out there on bootleg, but I can't be arsed trawing through them to find out. Any advice?

what's the tracklist on this tape? it's the best/only way to find out if it's a known or unknown recording you have...

The setlist order is a bit strange - would they really play "No Love Lost" first? It might be a compilation from different gigs.

It's worth checking tho' - in case it turns out to be a previously undiscovered tape.

Considering the setlist, if it is in fact an "new" tape, then this would be a gig from early 1979. And yes, "No Love Lost" played first is a bit strange...

It doesn't sound like a comp to me, but it's difficult to tell.

Alright, this better not be another "Plan K" hoax. Check your PMs, please, John.

So that would make:

1. No Love Lost;

2. Leaders of Men;

3. Day of the Lords;

4. Shadowplay;

5. Ice Age;

6. New Dawn Fades;

7. Digital;

8. Insight;

9. The Kill;

10.Transmission

If they played "The Kill" then it could be the May 23rd, 1979 Bowdon Vale gig !

Or it could be a hoax...

If this helps to identify the tape, The Kill seems to have a false start. Barney fails to come in at the right time, and the bass keeps going until he catches up.

I don't believe there was a live recording of The Kill available until now (apparently).

Any chance of converting this tape to a digital format and sharing it ?

I'll put a "taster" out if I can. Not sure how to get from audio cassette to computer.

Got a taster of The Kill on a cd, which plays on my computer, but don't know how to attach it here.

You can email it to me and I can host the sample. Unless Marko wants to host it on here.

Here it is

(currently in Windows Media format only - apologies to Mac users)

Difficult to make out with such a short sample, but so far it sounds genuine to me.
