The only U2 song with some relevance to JD is “A Day Without Me”, a single supposedly about Ian. This song however has nothing to do with anything.

There's also U2's first single with Island Records '11 O Clock Tick Tock' which was produced by Martin Hannett, which led to them actually visiting the studio when Joy Division were recording Love Will Tear Us Apart.. They were huge JD fans early on and the very early U2 stuff definitely has a tinge of wannabe JD-ism, diverged musically from that fairly quickly though.

The most disgusting band and vocalist on planet earth, who turned punk and post-punk into ridiculous stadium rock. Jesus in bed with the worst warmongerers ever...
Bono bought so many great artists from Frank Sinatra to Roy Orbison to lift himself up. Even Brian Eno couldn't do enough to make them sound like being innovative or what the f*ck.
I feel like vomiting if I just see his ridiculous sunglasses. If only Ian would be alive today and Bono would have decided long ago to do what is best for him and the rest of humanity.
