OK, this is quite similar to porfirio's Poets' Corner, but this is for people's favourite lyricists, favourite lyrics, and any lyrics members have written.
Here's a song of mine:

Hallucinations

There is little to be said for a girl who sees things in her head

There is no sympathy for one’s lover who’s not there

No one who’ll believe it – she seems to be elsewhere!

“Oh, there he is!” she shouts, pointing at the wall

Disappears, she said, “Oh, where have you gone now?”

She dreams so restlessly, cries uncontrollably

He keeps his mind on other things, but the girl, she thinks he’s here with her!

“Oh, will no one believe me? I really see him now!”

But as everyone just laughs, the girl’s smile becomes a frown

The laughter turns to tears with the realisation that it’s all just in her mind.

A trap she’s in, no way to escape.

“And so I scream the place down!

Down, down, down

And so I scream the place down!

Down, down, down

And so I scream the place down!”

OK, here's another one:

Isolated

I found you, my love,

In this ugly grove

I found you, my friend,

Somewhere near the end

And I would talk to you

When I wanted to

Now I can’t do that

Now I’m isolated

Had I found you, my love,

I wouldn’t be sad again

Had I found you, my friend,

I wouldn’t have let it end

And I would talk to you

When I wanted to

Now I can’t do that

Now I’m isolated

Still I search for you, my love,

Now I’m way up in the sky

Still I search for you, my friend,

Even though I let it end

And I would talk to you

When I wanted to

Now I can’t do that

Now I’m isolated

Why didn't you say so?

You said you loved me, you said you missed me.
You said you need me, but you never kissed me.
If I see your other lover, I go mad at night.
So would you stay true, my heartthrob?
Or at least let me know...

If I'm not good enough for you,
Why didn't you say so? Why didn't you say so?
Don't leave me all lonely, if you love me,
Then why didn't you say so? Why didn't you say so?

If you love me, don't let go...
But you're so keen to let my heart melt...
If you ever felt the need to flaming
Cheat on me, you scumbag, you scoundrel
- you're messing from the start!!!
Oh, boy, you're messing's tearing me apart!!!

If I'm not good enough for you,
Why didn't you say so? Why didn't you say so?
Don't leave me all lonely, if you love me,
Then why didn't you say so? Why didn't you say so?

My Game

Rockin' high,
My latest scandal
Walking around is
My next victim

"I'm a cheat, I'm a liar,
But if you want to play with me,
There is something you must be
Aware of - this is an unfair game,
But if you want to play my way,
By all means, play with me!"

I can catch 'em one by one
A flirt, I'll tear 'em all apart
Rip and slice open all their hearts
'Cause it's not love I want, just
A thrill in a glare!
A devilish chick just came your way!

"I'm a cheat, I'm a liar,
But if you want to play with me,
There is something you must be
Aware of - this is an unfair game,
But if you want to play my way,
By all means, play with me!"

If I could dream at all, I'd dream of you

Sleepless days and sleepless nights
Is the world that I live in
Watching stars as they dance by
My window in their world of dreams

But if I could dream at all,
If I could look into a star's eyes,
I could watch the moon fly
Over the clouds, I'd dream of you.

Here's one I did in August 2013:

She and Me

How do you know what you're doing is good?

I feel so nervous, oh, I knew I would

You wouldn't know because you're not me

I'm so happy, can't you see?

How do you do?

I wish I knew

How do you do?

I wish I knew

You make me happy

You really do

You make me happy

You really do

The silliest things I ever heard

I know what you're thinking, it's absurd

Sometimes it's hopeless, and it's tragic

But the other half is simply magic

You make me smile so very fondly

Maybe I lack rationality

Hormones are mysterious enablers

They seem to exist outside of nature

How do you do?

I wish I knew

How do you do?

I wish I knew

You make me happy

You really do

You make me happy

You really do

And it always kills me when you're down

Like a lost little puppy I just found

I always wished you were ecstatic, too

Happy, that someone loves you

Oh, how I do

I wish you knew

Oh, how I do

I wish you knew

You make me happy

You really do

You make me happy

You really do

Guess what? More lyrics! [biggrin]

I'll do my worst first, then I'll break it up a bit at the end.

Misunderstanding

"Go, go, go!" the command was there
In his voice
"No, no, no!" protesting
Said the girl
What were they thinking, those two?
I suppose I will never know.

He held a knife,
She grasped a gun
Blade pointed towards
The girl's throat,
But she's only to fire
The gun in her mouth
What were they thinking, those two?
I'll guess but I will never know.

"Go, go, go!" the command was there
In his voice, "I don't want to do this," he said
"You'll always stay in my heart," she said
"Tell me I'll be forever yours.
Tell me I'm yours, forever yours."

BANG! And the deed was done
Her head was loaded full of death
Knife slit at her throat and
Gun in her hand
"You are forever mine."
What were they thinking, those two?
I guess I'll never understand.
Never understand.
Never understand.

The Broken Girl

Sitting alone
Under covers
She cries
A wordless scream
Some noise
Beckons
Her mind is full
Of haunting thoughts
They would be
If written down

Standing still
In her bedroom
She wails
Her emotions all
Spilled
On the floor
Most are sad
Troubled even
Very few of
Them positive

Outside alone
In the winter
With no coat
She walks
Through town
And to
The end
A bridge before her
At the edge of a pier
She jumps

Dark Freedom

Black is the night
Like my darkened soul
Over time it bears no light
Only the street lights' dim light

Heavy is my heart
Beating at any sound
As my head rages mad
Full of nonsense

The darkness calls to me,
Can't you see?
I must walk in it,
Or I will never be free

Sweet is the night
Like Turkish delight
Over time my heart may sing
Of different things than what I write

Rolling like thunder
Around in my chest
Something beckons
Deep inside

As the nonsense continues
It spurs me on to clear out my mind
Of all things, madness you may not see
But believe me, I am who I am

The darkness calls to me,
Can't you see?
I must walk in it,
Or I will never be free

The darkness calls to me,
Can't you see?
I must walk in it,
Or I will never be free.

Music To The Girl

She sleeps alone in her cold, dark den
Of a bed against a lonely wall
In her sinister lair
Dreaming she's alone in another world

Bad row from in between the walls
Ah, but it's music to the girl
It's music to the girl

She goes through her dream world
Tossing and turning here and there
Underneath her pillow
There's a ghostly hand

Ah, but it's music to the girl
It's music to the girl

A moan through the walls
Someone singing
Someone playing a guitar
In all sinister, minor keys
And screaming
Under the bed

Ah, but it's music to the girl
It's music to the girl

Cat Song

"Meow..."
Hey, look! Pussy-cat!
"What?"
A little brown tabby
"Meow..."
It stretches its paws,
Then...
Jump... jump... on to the bed
Jump... jump... on to the bed

"Purr...purrr...rr...-rr..."
Hey, look! Pussy-cat!
"What?"
A little brown tabby
"Purr... purrr...rr...-rr..."
It stretches its paws,
Then...
Sleep... sleep... under the bed
Sleep... sleep... under the bed

Don't worry if you think Misunderstanding is as confusing as heck - it's supposed to be that way.
The Broken Girl gets gradually worse as the song goes on, so if you think the first verse is depressing...
Dark Freedom is actually about me. I'm a dark soul myself. I'm a bit crazy, and I have two ways of dealing with the darkness inside - one is listen to the dark, gloomy music I listen to and the second is wandering about the streets after dark which is what Dark Freedom is about. To say "the darkness calls to me" and words to that effect in the verses are a bit of an understatement.
Music To The Girl is about ghostly things and the girl not minding in the slightest - a bit spooky, wouldn't you think?
And Cat Song is just some random words about a little brown tabby cat, as you've probably guessed.

Is this the final obsessions ?
The ones you got before the end ?
Oh, heillige Tod... x2
I thought you'd never come,
I've been waiting for you for so long,
But now you're there I'm glade,
Of these wasted days.

Le temps n'est plus propice,
Au amours et aux vices
La purification à débutée,
Tout doit être nétoyer,
Aujourd'hui tous glissent
et partent car le temps n'est plus propice,
Au amours et aux vices
La purification à débutée,
Tout doit être nétoyer,
Aujourd'hui tous glissent
et partent car... et caetera.

Thanks! I like yours too!

Corruption:

forbiden thoughts, given by corruption,
Left a mark our actions,
Left a mark on our relations,
And, as you can see,
I still want to be ruled,
Just like Severin showed,
So please my Wanda listen to me,
I need you to do this,
I need you to subsitute,
To pervert the authority,
And to give me at least a taste of dislocation,
and unfairness.

That one's excellent as well - you are a great composer of lyrics yourself, Atarubarreau!

You have a great voice - I'd say probably low baritone or maybe even bass.

Thanks I really appreciate your feedback.
Actually, before 2015 I couldn't sing on tune at all. I started to try singing Joy Division's songs and so on, and in 6 months I had learn to sing (a bit on tune) by myself.

The Blood On My Hands

I never ever touched it
But it swallowed me whole
I never sought it out
But it's there without a doubt

I never saw a way out
Of doom my soul dived into
And I see my friends all tainted
By the blood on my hands

Don't ever try to remove it
Once in a nightmare, you live in it
Forever trying to forget it
The blood on my hands

Darkness wrapped around me
But light never shone within me
Forever chasing it, running from
The blood on my hands

Don't ever try to refuse it
Once in a nightmare, you live in it
Forever chasing it, running from
The blood on my hands

Eternal Night

Battle this beam until you die
It's not much of an alibi
Going off into dreamland
To wake up shattered

Living in a nightmare, you don't see much
Better find a way out before you lose touch
If this is reality, then I give in
My altered state's at an end

This means to an end is some
Form of escape, it's an art
I've not yet mastered
I need to find a way to stay alive

Is this to be the end then?
I will not write a note
I must battle this beam
I must fight this eternal night!

Are these lyrics just too dark? Are they freaking people out? Is that why no one's said anything?

More lyrics - just wrote them yesterday, about a certain soft-hearted young fool I used to know... mes dames et messieurs, this is "I Pity That Fool".

I pity the fool
That begs you to
Remain by their side
I pity the fool
That asks you the
Questions I'd never
Dream of asking you
Oh, I pity that fool

But in my pockets, full of broken dreams
Were promises I'd never keep and
Promises were made to me and then
My dreams all snapped in two

And what a nightmare I live in
Through morbid curiosity I travelled
As my head spun round and round
I found as all my fears came true

Love fell apart as I was holding you
But that night, I thought you understood
Realise now that you never would, and oh!
Oh! How I pity the fool

That foolish fool who cried all her heart to pieces
And wept her soul to misery, fell in love with melancholy
And whose life, I'd say, is oh! so folly -
I pity that fool

She walks alone on the streets in the dark
No one beside her, her hand by her side
Still mopes and weeps, still longing for
That old pocket of hers, with her shattered hopes
Of a life of love that would never break
And a happy heart which could never shake
Oh! I pity the fool! I pity the fool!

I used to be an amateur singer-songwriter, but I never had a good enough backing band or good enough equipment to record anything properly. I don't still have my lyrics from that time, apart from the disaster that was my attempt at collaboration (I quote my bandmate: "I want to collaborate with you, but I don't want any of my work altered or critiqued"). I'd share the lyrics of a song I'm currently working on, but it needs a lot of work because I haven't had the chance to actually play it yet, and I'm always nervous about how lyrics I write would actually sound.

JDCat4, were you inspired for the title and refrain of that one at all by Rimbaud's Ophelia? "Quel reve, o pauvre Folle". (Excuse my lack of diacritics.)

Hi, Emily [chuckles - that's my name as well, although I prefer to be called Em - or just by my username, JDcat4].

It's perfectly understandable to be nervous about lyrics sounding OK - I am quite a lot of the time, but then when I'm singing them to myself they sometimes sound OK.

No, "I Pity That Fool" wasn't inspired by Ophelia. In fact, I haven't really heard of Rimbaud. I'm not into poetry that much. I used to attempt to write poetry, sometimes I still do, but they're not much - sorry excuses for poetry, really. No, it was me when I was a child, really. I was a bit too much of a princess, really and rather naive and something of a romantic. Then in high school, I did meet someone, but when they left, my heart just broke and since then, I've not been the slightest bit given to romance - or as I call it in the song, folly - [my way of thinking of it now is that it's just folly or madness now - no point in it at all]. I thought it was rather foolish, so I wrote a song about the young fool I was. Or at least that's how it looks now, looking back on it. I wouldn't say my heart's thoroughly black, but it's black enough that I'm not that bothered about being romantic in any way, like the younger me who was a bit of a princess was.

Some of my songs are "heart-breakers" as I call them - songs about, well, not having much luck and broken romance really, others are just mad, and others are quite a bit darker. If you've got any lyrics, feel free to put them up if you feel you're confident enough with them. A few people on here have put their lyrics up already, as you see.
Ask me if you want me to explain any of my other lyrics. I'm quite happy to do so.
Em.

Just looking at what I've put up here and it occurs to me I've not put Ghost Girl up...
I might record me playing the piano for it as well at some point.
Anyway, lyrics:

A stick is banging on a drum but no one sits there
The piano plays in solitude with the stool empty
Strumming still without a hand is an acoustic guitar
A stick is banging on a drum but no one sits there

Ghost girl in the space where no one goes
Feels like a curse, there's ghostly silence
But there's no one there
Oh, there's no one there

Ghost girl looks around the room but no one is there
Imagines figures in the space where they once were
And playing still without the band and here singing is
The ghost girl looks around the room but no one is there

Ghost girl in the space where no one goes
Feels like a curse, there's ghostly silence
But there's no one there
Oh, there's no one there

I am the ghost girl
I am the ghost girl
Look into my eyes
To see the demons of my past
And you'll believe me
You'll believe me because
Everyone is dead

Ghost girl in the space where no one goes
Feels like a curse, there's ghostly silence
But there's no one there
Oh, there's no one there.
