At the new True Faith exhibition in Manchester Art Gallery (open from today), you can now watch the whole of this gig for the first time.

It's stated that the run time is 33 mins 23 secs (I didn't have time to sit through it). So it appears you can now see 'Colony', 'Auto-Suggestion' and 'Transmission' finally (Colony is not the one released via iTunes, that was from the 28th).

01. Dead Souls
02. Wilderness
03. Colony
04. Auto-Suggestion
05. Love Will Tear Us Apart
06. Shadowplay
07. She's Lost Control
08. Transmission

I'm quite amazed no one has posted about seeing the complete Oct 27th JD Manchester Apollo performance at the Manchester Art Gallery - so I spose I'd better - as we've just got back to London after a viewing.

I checked back on "Here Are The Young Men" and one thing struck me - on HATYM there is definitely a hint of colour on the tracks from the first night - the screening at the exhibition however is undoubtedly black and white. Whether the duplication has lost some resolution or whether the tracking on the player was slightly out (although I doubt the latter was the case because "Taras Shevchenko" which is on the same loop -  looked superb) - not too sure.

Check the concert page for the gig on this site  because the review from City Fun fanzine is illuminating. Ian Curtis doesn't look bored as the reviewer suggests, but he does look tired in the film.  Of the three tracks that have never previously surfaced on video or bootleg, "Autosuggestion" and "Transmission" are executed well enough, but the performances pall in intensity to the versions included on HATYM (Effenaar and 28th Oct respectively). I am perplexed as to the omission of "Colony" from the first night - as it's astounding - for me it is the highlight of the set.

The end of the gig does suggest that all was not well onstage - the band finish with "Transmission" and the very second that Ian finishes singing he leaves the stage - it's as if he cannot wait to go - no hanging about with a "Thank You Goodnight" on this one.

The screening is on a loop with the "Taras Shevchenko" New Order performance - and the whole exhibition is at Manchester Art Gallery until Sept 3rd.
