Re the UK release date - Uncut magazine seems to infer that this is when it will be on release at UK cinemas - so whether this is a ciinema or DVD release date (or both) - not too sure.....

Yes, I take the May 2 date as the date it will be in cinemas too. It'll be good to see it on the big screen. I pick up my copy on dvd on Monday from a Norwegian work colleague - yippee!

Absolutely. The distribution (and marketing?) of this appears to have been cocked up no end. How on earth is it available on DVD (in Norway!?!?!) over THREE months before the UK cinema release, and why is it being released on DVD in the US 6 weeks or so before the UK cinema release?

Funnily enough one of the producers is a friend of a friend of mine!

They're probably just taking what they can get for each territory. This sort of film/documentary isn't exactly all that high profile (except to us of course!).

Oyvind

The DVD arrived this morning and I will be watching it 'soon as' this evening.

Thank you again for all the effort you have put into this.

For some reason, the Canadian release date for both Control and the doc on DVD have been pushed back from March 25 to June 17, according to my contact at Alliance. Don't know if this applies to the States as well, but as it's all through Weinstein, I'm guessing yes

And that the next country to release the DVD after Norway will be Australia - I don't know the date - but apparently it precedes the UK release.

I watched the DVD last night and have to say I think it is an excellent piece.

It was great to see the comprehensive list of conributors and also some live footage aired, although I (as every other Joy Division fan) would of liked to seen the 'Granada' and 'Something Else' performances in their entirity (can we ever hope to see them in crystal clear quality and complete form?).  That said, I thought it was excellent all round and the 'Plan K' footage was nowhere near as bad as I had expected.  Great to see a genuine effort in making a quality Joy Division documentary at the end of the day.

I am already looking forward to watching it again over the weekend.

Cheers Oyvind!

Hi, everyone. The movie was shown as a part of the Zagreb Dox - the annual festival of documentary films in my hometown. Other than that, I don't really have a valuable information which could enrich the forum, except my desire to express how deeply moving the movie is and my joyfulness to know that there's a place (this one, of course, hehe) where there are people who will understand why. Cheers!

Is it too late for the UK to enter a JD track for Eurovision?

The UK entry could do a cover of 'Failures'..would be very apt..maybe those very nice people dressed as cabin crew could perform again?

If the judges are asked why yet again a tenth rate track scores 12 points and a rare gem doesn't score, they could use the excuse of

"I remember nothing"
