Hello, i am trying to look at the lot, but even after registering, i am not able to see any details or pictures of what will be auctioned. I am pretty sure it is my fault ... but i am wondering, can you see a detailed list and pictures of what is there? Where is the above picture from? Thanks

The photo is taken from Omegas twitter account. The catogue for the sale will only come out in November if past performance is an indicator. They must be expecting a lot of interest in this sale as usually they sell midweek not on Saturdays!

Yep, we love him too and made a master of this poster on A3 format, if you are really interesting about.

If you are making a trip up here for the auction, DON'T. Its been moved to early march but not widely advertised. Sorry I can't get the link to work (link now on next post) but if you go to omegas website, then news and blog you'll see there is now an exhibition of Hookys stuff end of Feb, then the auction to follow. You can also pre order, for 24th Nov posting, copies of the catalogue signed by Hooky at £17 each. Mines ordered!

Anyone know what serial number out of 1578 the melodica is? We know that Bernard has one which he uses now, and that Ian gave his to Terry Mason. And Chris Hewitt has at least 1000 of them of course.

It's starting to look a bit Chris Hewitt this sale, apparently the Atmosphere 'chimes' are in there! According to Steve it was only a standard tambourine plus effects - P240 of Totally Wired (Simon Reynolds).

Unbelievable! As an aside, I seem to recall some years ago there was a picture of some chimes in the studio but maybe the story has got confused as aren't there chimes on From Safety to Where?

Take you're point Keef :) personally I'm after a small piece of ephemara that I'll be pretty sure is genuine and can frame. I assume a lot of the items are those I saw as part of the "audience with hooky" tour of a few years ago.

Is it his ponytail from the early 90s when he was going for the Viking Stringfellow look?

...i was at the utrecht record fair on saturday and saw peter's fantastic items! but why to hell he's sells it???
all the memorabilia – reel tapes (britannia row, strawberry studios), bass guitars, many factory items, posters, vinyl - i cant believe it even the (xeroxed) last letter from ian to annik!!!
did he not earned enough money with over 40 years in music business in 2 of the most famous indie bands, so sad!
this items had better housed in a JD or music museum...

Like Protovision, I don't understand why Peter Hook sells these pieces of music History, his own story .... It would have its place in a Music Museum, why not create a Manchester Music Museum ... So many bands come from this fantastic city, so ...

To Protovision and fbz: Have either of you ever gone through a really bad breakup/divorce? Did you keep your ex's stuff around your house? Or let it sit there to haunt you? (Personally I think Hooky should have donated that stuff to the Manchester District Music Archive, but it's his stuff, not mine ... )

...i think it's not to compare – maybe more you sell your master work (in german 'meisterstück') hard to descripe for me – maybe he has much more stuff he didn't sell,
i only mislike the fact that the hard stuff (equipment, mastertapes and letters etc.) is soon in some collectors basement and like you i would prefer a MDM-archive solution...

For those who are genuinely interested in this auction I received my copy of the catalogue today and its really well done. Proper bound with lots of colour photos of the lots. And a good autograph by Hooky on the front.
