It's weird that only some of the tapes/discs were withdrawn from auction.

I wonder if they were given the once over by Warners to see what was unreleased (and therefore they could potentially release in future?)

One of the live cassettes sold is from The Factory on 11th May 1979. There is no recording known to exist from that date is there?

The track listing written on this cassette is for the 13.07.79 already released concert. It's all a bit vague and quite possibly a simple mistake from whoever made the tape. It would be good if it wasn't but unlikely.

hi Guys,

I hope it's the May 11 concert.
I will tell you when I will receive my 3 cassettes ... I also hope that the concert of August 13 in Nashville is whole ... Clearly, the objects were sold to me with a certification. If this is not the case, I would start a litigation with omega-auctions for "sale not in accordance with the objects presented" .... I'll let you know what I will find on these tapes.

Hi,

i don't want to burst your bubble, by like i previously said, it is very doubtful that anything unreleased/unknown to exist was proposed during the auction.
Many of the live tapes are just trading circle tapes sent by fans to Hooky (like many pictures and memorabilia).

See You

hi Guys,

I just had confirmation by Omega Auctions that the tape of May 11, 1979 is not the right one. Indeed, following the requests made to the auction house, they listened to the tape and indeed, it is the concert of July 13, 1979. Sorry but as you I am disappointed and cancels my purchase. At least we are fixed on the content. I will not recover the 3 cassettes and I would not know if the concert of 13 August in the nashville is complete or not.

That's too bad Phil. Is there no way you can get the other tapes for a reduced price?

Did anyone buy the melodica's, Atmosphere chimes or sell a kidney for the world's most expensive flight case (£21,000+)?

Hi,

the original message posted on neworder.com :

A Message From Bernard and Stephen

Both Bernard and Steve were very disappointed that Peter Hook had decided to sell copies of the letters between Ian and Annik in his “signature collection” auction on Saturday. They considered them to be very private and personal correspondence. We had also been contacted by many people, some closely connected, who also expressed their unhappiness with this proposed sale.

It was a relief to see that Peter chose to withdraw them from the sale, prior to Saturday’s auction.
We noted that the money from the proposed sale was to be donated to The Christie hospital, so Bernard and Steve have personally made a donation of £1,500 to The Christie.

Although previously Annik had given permission for extracts to be published we hope that the entirety of the letters will remain as they were intended to be, private.

See You

Hi,

part of the benefit of the Peter Hook's auction was to be donated to an hospital.

As the letters of Ian/Annik were removed for the sale (and will not be sold by Omega), Steve and Bernard decided to donate the asked price for the letters directly to the hospital.

Bernard and Steve didn't want that people say that they asked to remove items, which will imply that less money will be given to the charity for the hospital. It explains why they gave the planned amount for the sale of the letters to the hospital.

See You

Vince
