On which date did Ian Curtis and Rob Gretton go into the studio to produce 'Girls Don't Count' single for Section 25? Which studio was it recorded in and did the pair produce the two b-sides too?

Paragraphs 4 and 5 give all the details...in a nutshell, it was recorded in September 1979 at Cargo Studios and all three tracks came from the same session.

Thanks for the link. I was surprised it was recorded so early seeing as Ian didn't even live to see it get released.

I understand that S25 first met JD when they put on the Imperial Hotel gig in Blackpool on 27th July 79 .... which was a 'Year of the Child' benefit gig organised by S25 in their home town

5 bands played that night ... S25 and JD obviously - plus Glass Torpedoes, OMD and The Final Solution (all for £1.50, including a free badge !)

Great bit of memorabilia.

And if you were under 13 you could have got in for 75p! Although presumably you would not have had the benefit of the late bar. Then again, maybe you would. It was the 70s after all.
