Way ahead of you. I noticed this one already last month and didn't even bother to express my thoughts on that, because it goes way beyond reason.
I feel very sorry for the way this great band has become a target for comedy and fake merchandise, and serious collectors and music fans are being enticed and misled with dubious and nonsensical items, just because more and more cynical minds are having a laugh at the gullible fools who are eager to part with their money. Like, how many so-called genuine autographs by Ian have surfaced this year? For obvious reasons one may assume that his autograph has been forged to death (no pun intended). It's relatively simple (dull even!) in comparison with those of the others. I seem to recall that Peter Hook once wrote something about that, it may have been in his JD book.
For that reason I would never, ever buy a "signed by Ian" item. The percentage of if being fake increases by the year.
Only buy with fake money perhaps :-)

This surfaced on ebay almost 15 years ago and was sold, I have actually posted pics of this many years ago, I believe it to be genuine, back in 2000, there was not the same fuss around the band, there was no movie, no reissues etc., looked good to me at the time, but $15,000, not a fucking chance, I think it originally sold for around $1,100 if I remember rightly, I was so impressed wityh it that I printed the pics from the auction and posted them here.

I messaged back and forward with the guy, he seems like a nice guy, he just dropped the price to $12,500 which is still way over the top, the thing I find funny is, he's still looking for $4 for shipping !

What I find interesting is Stephen Morris' signature-giving credence to his nickname "Shaky Steve."

Of the Ian signatures I've seen, he did at times sign so his first name appears to be "I am" ....which always makes me go "hmmmm (stroking imaginary beard in Freud-like fashion), curiouser and curiouser!"
