I'm doing a song contest with 8 early Joy Division songs.  I have chosen the 8 songs, none of which are known for being their most well known songs, I just chose 8 early songs.  I will do it so that every 3 days I will put 2 songs up against each other for anyone to vote on which they prefer.  It will start with 4 'battles' in which the winner of each battle will qualify for the semi finals, then the same in the semi finals with the 4 winners in the opening 4 battles.  The first battle is

WALKED IN LINE - With measured steps
v
I REMEMBER NOTHING - We were strangers way too long

Voting for this battle will end at the end of May 29th 2014.  In a draw the final vote will decide the winner.

I vote for  I REMEMBER NOTHING

'I Remember Nothing' - though as performed live only. Manchester Apollo and Leeds Futurama in particular. The UP version always reminds me of King f****** Crimson. Has to be said 'Walked In Line' always worked better onstage too; a great number but much misunderstood and consequently under-produced. The 'Still' cut is a joke and the Arrow version could be your next-door neighbours.

For years I would have said neither but one has been growing on me of late - especially the Electric Ballroom version - "I Remember Nothing" gets my vote

'Autosuggestion', by a mile. 'The Kill' is basically a rewrite of 'Walked In Line'.

This is not an easy one....

'Autosuggestion' just sneaks it.......

(Very little to choice in between that and 'The Kill' (from Still))
