I was hoping we might of had a 'taster' so to speak of this issued by the publisher by now, as I for one really am looking forward to the release of this.

His recollections of the early days seem far more enthusiastic and watertight than those releases by his companions from New Order, and hope upon hope, some gems will be unearthed which fill some gaps from the Warsaw days.

I live in hope.

It will be interesting if Mr. Morris comments on any subjects Bernard and Peter had different views on. And of course, many other subjects... how the music developed, songs that were written around his drums, and Ian, rest in peace.

He seems like a smart guy, and like he was not into drinking or drugs particularly, so hopefully his memory for detail is rather clear. Looking very much forward to his writings !

Then we will have writings from Stephen, Bernard, Peter and Ian.

'he was not into drinking or drugs particularly'

Don't know about drinking but I am not sure that his drumming was not in some way pharmaceutically assisted!

Also, check him out on the Something Else interview. That's not a man who has just had one can of Skol. :-)

I thought he did like the buzz of drinking cough medicine.

Can't find details of a release date yet but in the mean time we have one of his other books to keep us entertained. It's a bit pricey for my liking though.

There are some things I would like to know that I hope might be, (though suspect won't be), addressed in this book:

- Why was SM chosen to do the Something Else interview? Did the others not want to do it?
- Why was the drum pattern changed on the released version of LWTUA?
- Why were the drum fills removed on the released version of Transmission?
- Why are there less 'Day in, Day Outs' on the released version of Digital than when played live?
- Why did Ian never sing all of the lyrics to either I Remember Nothing or Candidate when performed live?
- Why was Something Must Break only played live once?
- Does any further audio or video footage exist of the LWTUA video shoot?
- Did JD ever use a drum machine live?

I may think of more...

a few from me :

- Was 'Dead Souls' ever considered for inclusion on 'Closer' ?
- Was a live album from the Reichstag or the Jan '80 european tour really considered for release ?
- Was anything lined up in the bands schedule after the US tour ?
- Which studio recording is Steve the least happy with and why ?
- How were the white noise sounding pulses at the start of 'The Eternal' created ? Presuming it to be one of the synths or possibly the in-built FX on Ian's Vox Phantom ?
- Did Harry De mac ever get his 'come uppance' after hanging onto, and then charging for,  the live tapes after Ian died ?

Pretty sure he doesn't sing the "I tried to get to you" part and maybe some of the other lyrics but it's been a while since I listened to a live version as it's not one of my favourite JD tracks.

I think that will have been a Martin Hannett decision, a bit like the original Ceremony where he dropped out a fair few drum parts. My guess is that he would have thought that simplifying it gave it more power (by cutting out the 'messy' drum fills).

Was there any plans to release 'Ceremony/In a Lonely Place' as a 7" and 12"?
Were there any over-the-horizon plans following the US tour?
Was the live album 'really' going to happen?

(Apologies if any/all of these have come to light already)
