General Craig has written an excellent article on this Film Event,
   http://lwtua.websitetoolbox.com/post?id=4821548

I do Have some further additions.I asked John Savage how many Tracks were left on the DVD before the Power cut.He told me there were Two.
                       Shes Lost Control.
                       Atrocity Exhibition.
We will have to wait for the DVD / BlueRay Release to come out.

Anyone else notice the projection was a Bit crooked !
From the back row there was a slight lean to the right.

I hope the T####  who chopped thru that Underground Cable were blown out the hole or given a nasty belt of Electricity,After Ruining our Sunday Afternoon.

Thanks for the compliment johnny, but I wouldn't really call my thoughts an article!

Interesting that there were only two tracks left - I wonder if Interzone was just not included, or the quality was too low to merit inclusion... or maybe Jon got mixed up?

Don't remember the crooked projection though, I was probably too wrapped up with what was going on on the screen (and sat in the middle of the room) - though they had spent a fair amount of time trying to line up the projection before it got underway, so I guess they didn't quite get it perfect!

I can only agree with you on the fate of the person who cut through the cable, I doubt he'll ever realise quite what his blunder meant to a lot of people.

I'm sure Interzone would be part of it, we wouldn't know they'd played it if it wasn't for this footage.

It may seem like the curse of Factory for this showing to have gone wrong, just be glad they showed Plan K first by mistake. It was actually intended to show the Apollo gigs first and get to Plan K at the end of the 2 hours.

Maybe Interzone was cut off? Like I said the only setlist info comes from this video so at least part of it must have been on there.

I was there, Plan K looks great, sounds ok(ish). I was looking forward to seeing the Apollo footage in full, but...ah well.

I was going Over to Leigh to have a Gander at the Rival Joy Division Exhibition ,However on The Festivals myspace page ,The Exhibition appeared to be a Few Italian Bootlegs, such as Testament ,That Centre of the City book thing and Leigh Festival Double Cd.A History in Cuttings was in the picture as well,However the Photos seem to have been removed,Or I have not looked properly.
Some one else will explain the Ozit situation,I don`t get involved with the politics.I just buy the Product !!!
                              From whoever !!!!

no, i wouldn't get involved in it either. but as a by stander its amazing how easy it is to catch a bit of the mud flying between these guys. and it beats watching coronation street.

i went to the FAC251 exhibition and thought the leigh one might be the same stuff. definately worth seeing. i only read about the leigh one today tho. i missed a few things on the unknown pleasures mac list cos i didn't hear about them soon enough. typical!!

Just curious, where is it mentioned that Peter Hook would be/is involved with the Ozit exhibition?

I didn't know there was another exhibition in Leigh - but I did notice that Hooky wasn't listed as a contributor to the Macclesfield exhibition.

If Ozit are involved then I'll be steering clear. Everything of theirs that I've ever seen has been poor quality

Between the stuff Hooky had on display on his book tour and the Macclesfield exhibition I don' t think there is much more to see

oh, there's always more...

...though I don't think there's much chance of it being together in one place again.

Yes, it's true, it's not Ian. Unfortunately! I was watching a short doc about Iggy, and then I saw some footage of him onstage during his "Lust for Life" period. And then I saw this bit which looks a damn lot like Philippe Carly's famous Plan K photo of Ian behind the mic. I just had to take a snapshot of it to see if others would think likewise. Apparently some of you did!
It's generally known that Ian was a big fan of Iggy, so there you go.

Having said that, it's been a few years since the Plan K footage was discussed. There's this nice book of Philippe Carly's photos about to be published, but unfortunately, no signs of anything regarding the video footage. Maybe someone can reveal something new?

From a fans perspective, given all the years that have gone by (ie, its 35 years since tantalising snippets of the colour footage were released on HATYM in '82!) its so frustrating that the Plan K footage still remains unreleased  ..... albeit bar half a showing, before the power cut, to approx 100 people in Macclesfield back in 2005.

We know that the accompanying sound is poor ... but its colour footage of their first european gig FFS, with a great set list  ...  and thus still of great historical interest (especially given there is such a small amount of film / video footage of JD available)

I am not a supporter of todays approach of 'everyone wanting everything instantly available ... and for free' ... but also, after all this time, I dont see what is achieved by leaving such footage sitting in a vault for another 35 years ??

Surely there must be a format / platform that is acceptable for all involved for the release of this footage at some point - or am i totally missing something ?>?>

A person named Bob Jones left the following comment on the video linked below: "Hya, thanks for uploading - I was on camera for this - regarding the comment below about Factory not paying for a proper video, we'd gone to video Buzzcocks who shared the bill and offered the video of Joy Division to Tony Wilson for half the cost of the equipment hire, I think it was £30. IKON, the factory video arm then used the footage for 'Here Are The Young Men', which sold loads on VHS. (We got nowt). There was no audio feed to the recorder, just the microphone on the camera."

I asked him where the fuck the rest of the footage is, but no response. :/

If you're trying to ascertain if the rest of the Apollo footage exists, well it does and the band have both nights in full. One extra track (Colony) was used on the iTunes release of +- Singles for example.

Some unseen previously Plan K footage available on JD's YouTube official channel.

Here's also SLC form Bowdon Vale taken NOT from Substance VHS (in this version no subtitles at bottom)
