Never noticed that U2's "unforgettable fire" (a.corbjin photography,so coincidence is ruled out) album cover is based on the original concept for "Still"...no wonder,as it is known that "the bono" was/is a J.D.-fan....pics for comparrison:

Interesting. But there is a further Anton Corbijn connection. On The Unforgettable Fire, the sleeve concept is attributed to Anton Corbijn and Steve Averill. Averill is an Irish designer who went to school with U2 and is credited for suggesting their name.

It would be interesting find out more about Savilles' original concept. In the ‘Still’ deluxe CD packaging from 2007 it says that when designing the record “The starting point for Peter Saville was a Czech record bound in red fabric, with gold lettering, that he’d chanced upon in Record and Tape Exchange.” The design concept may have changed after discussing with Rob Gretton who "insisted he didn’t want anything ornate or self-satisfied.” It sounds like Saville moved to the grey color scheme but kept the book fabric concept. It goes on to say that "Garrod and Lofthouse were able to source the materials; their rep wrote Joy division in felt-tip over Peter’s hessian Czech LP" when it was given back to him.

I would be interested to find out where the company that produced the ’shadowplay' bootleg got that info about the original design. Does that boot cover look exactly like what Saville had designed? or did they create a cover based on the story told by Saville about the Czech album cover? And did the concept by Corbijn and Averill come from previous knowledge of the Still concept by Saville?

Either way, I had never noticed that comparison.
