Never heard of epileptic seizures being triggered by "a particular drum beat". I know that flashing lights or general exhaustion can, but I found this a bit weird. What drum beat? From what song?

Apart from that, I found the inclusion of stock images in that Youtube mini doc rather silly.

I think it was Hooky who said particular drumbeats would get him worked up during their shows, sometimes putting him in a trance, which would then lead to his fits. I imagine the more tribal beats of "Dead Souls" or "Atrocity Exhibition" would get him dancing more wildly than certain others.

Hm, Dead Souls? That would have meant a very early show stopper, considering it was usually played right at the beginning. And as for Atrocity: On practically all the recordings I know it seems Ian was still well enough to finish with a "Q, goodnight".

You got a point about Dead Souls, but I imagine he still danced more on that song as opposed to one like Day of the Lords or Candidate.

At 1979-11-02 Bournemouth, Ian collapsed towards the end of Atrocity Exhibition and there was no encore. Hooky remembers spending at least in hour in the back room taking care of him.

Wasn't something written about the Bournemouth day? Something about people saving Ian from walking too far into the sea while in a suicidal mood?
I mean, it had already been a difficult day for him. Doing the dead fly was probably the less harmful thing to do, I suppose.
