what are the notations in the run-out-groove?i've got a textured copy with a2/b2 notations which i've also found a couple of times on e-bay,meaning that this is not a case of 'swapping re-issued into original'.maybe they had some covers over in 1980 & used them up for the RE,which could actually make these specific copies 'rare' in their own right .what bothers me is that i've got a bl/w labeled hessian sleeved 'still' with a2/b2/....notations but the re-issued bl/w 'still' has a1/b1/.....etchings.on NOOL they state this version (mine) is rarer & legit . i've contacted owners & sellers of this item who assured me,they bought the item as such......ergo no swapping here too!J.D. & vinyl collecting is a science in itself ! mindboggling,no matter how much research you put into this subject.

The groove etchings are FACT 10-INSIDE-2 STEP RC and FACT 10-OUTSIDE-2 THIS IS THE WAY RC which is what it says on discogs as well.It also has straight edged corners on the inside sleeve.

It's the same as the 'Transmission' 7" first pressing sketch, that has been discussed ad nauseam. As I've said before here, as much as it's generally accepted that the so-called 'first pressing' had the textured sleeve, Bernard insisted that the first boxes of singles Factory were in receipt of, and he didn't say how many, were actually in untextured sleeves. It's entirely likely that Peter Saville had test prints and had sleeves made up in a variety of different materials and as it was before the digital age, it was only a matter of the machine-minder at the printers bunging another wad of sheets in one end of the litho press. Any random mix of sleeves may have been rightly or wrongly 'utillised' by the pressing plant to save wasting them. Same with the first 'Closer' pressing. I was sent a copy, pre-release and it had a coated, slightly chalky looking sleeve, a bit like the material Magazine's 'Play' LP sleeve was printed on, ie., very different from the matt, uncoated off-white card the proper 'first pressing' was issued in.

you're right phill, this is nothing new! this is not about first pressings just that there's a re-issue with text. cover which makes newbie's insecure when checking the info here & not finding their obtained item under 'discography' as a legit pressing.you know the feeling when you spend hard earned dosh in the spirit of having something original & then you find out it isn't(or is or isn't...etc)?
this topic isn't over by far ,regarding long players!too much contradicting information.i remember someone stating that the first 'still' pressing had straight cornered inner sleeves.can't find one copy of this & she/he was there, when they opened the box on arrival!don't want to be a poop.....but that's the way it is

Oops, sorry mate. I missread your previous post. I meant 'Closer' not 'Still'.
My hessian and 'regular' copies of 'Still' both had round cornered inner sleeves, tho I've since given away my hessian copy to a mate for his b'day present. I kind-of regret it now, tho.

concerning the cover of  'magazine' i found this on german e-bay with the same attribute as the U.P. textured cover (seems to be a  novelty of fact.records)
