Yep. I'll be there....and if people in front of me start filming the PlanK stuff on their mobiles, they'll reap the full benefit of my trusty pea-shooter!

I'll be at the exhibition (29th)but will miss the 31st film event - gutted, sounds like an unforgettable event!
The Tourist Information Centre and Silk Heritage Museum in Macc are selling the A2 fold out poster/maps Unknown Pleasures.  The cost price of the 500 copies limited edition  poster with fainter picture of Ian than normal one at £1.50. However, I think one of the limited editions has been sold on ebay for £14.01 - you can get them easily at the silk heritage museum.  They also have a similar looking A2 fold out exhibiton guide (free!) with a list of 99 exhibits likely to be included in the exhibition.  As you know, you can check outh the website at http://www.joydivisionexhibition.com.

I hope that one day 77 Barton st gets a "blue plaque" deserving of Macclesfield's most famous figure.  I went to Kings school at same time as ian but never met him (left in July 71). My brother was good mates with Steve Morris when they were kids.  Last time they met up was a few years in Sainsbury's and although steve didn't remember me (why should he?) they ended up talking about Friends reunited website of all things.  I was unemployed and signed on at the same place and time that Ian worked there, but I never remember him or got a chance to meet him.  My parents lived 5 mins walk away so South park wasat the bottom of the garden for us.  From my bedroom window, when out of work, I used to watch people walking their dogs in South Park - how weird that one of those people could have been Ian.

enjoy the next few weeks

Mark Kermode disses Joy Div too often for my liking. I used to be in a band with him at school and he was always a bit nerdy and just didn't get Joy Div.
