Hi guys! I had bought earlier New Order's Movement at my local supermarket, but it happend that the thing was scratch out and didn't worked. So I got 25€ (The equivalent of 27.72 dollars and 17.75. Thanks google) to buy some Joy Division vinyl. And before buying the usual release (UP,Closer or Substance now that it was re-released in vinyl) I wanted ask if there was some extraordinary bootleg release. I'm especially interested in Lyceum concert and the Moonlight Club lives in a good release (I'm a little worried about buying something that would sounds like an Enigma release xD). Also does anyone now if there's (there was) a cassette release for the "Band On The Wall" cause I love the mess-sound it have; and think I that its messy sound would be even better on cassette xD So if anyone knows, let it be known !

So, wait...You love the messed up sound from the Band on the Wall recording, but you are worried about something sounding like an Enigma 7"?
Your standards for lo-fi stuff seem a bit enigmatic as well!
Why not download the "BotW" and put it on tape yourself? If you already know about the messed up sound, then what's the added value of having it on tape anyway? I wouldn't recommend anyone to pay anything for a crappy tape of a crappy recording. Keep the cash in your pocket man.
As for rare stuff: on joydiv.org you can see which releases are associated with the Lyceum and Moonlight gigs. It's all on CD these days.
As for chances of finding them (if you don't like digital files) I'd say: Check eBay regulary and also take a look on discogs. You might find something,
Forget about buying vinyl online with a budget of 25€ because of shipping costs.

I going to explain myslef a bit: I love the Hi-Fi sounds of vinyl and love at the same time the crappy sound a cassette. It's just two different thing for me. I was just wondering about a bootleg tape. It was "Hors-Sujet", off topic. ^^, But thanks for the infomartion and your reply. And like DMXI said, I think I'm gonna go for the reissues.

....& with the official re-issues you get a copy art-work which is a nice little feature & makes the purchase worthwhile,me thinks......the sound is a much debated topic but is minute in comparison to other un- & official releases! so,it's a win-win situation either way.happy vinyl hunt,i say!sorry to hear about your 'movement' copy but you should still consider getting it as it's NO's finest label release (next to low-life) but their accompanying 'peel sessions' have a better sound & feeling which also are worth obtaining.

Yep, I love movement since it's the first New Order album I ever listened to and also cause of ICB, Truth, Doubts Even Here, all these great songs! I gotta say that I even prefere the Western Works Demo version of "Dreams Never End" than the album version (Except for the vocals who are a bit messed-up by delay on the voice). Think I'm gonna buy Closer since it's the one that I don't listen to everyday (unlike UP xD).

be careful with bootlegs!my advice would be to 'study' this sites 'bootleg' section with scrutiny & choose carefully between sound, setlist, intensity & overall 'feeling' when buying classic JD boots.....esp. on vinyl, which most probably will happen in the near future when bitten by the collectors bug!you're sharing this site with the most infected ,'my young padawan',so beware!lolly

19.5.80????? Great marketing that. How can they be trusted to sell a watch that keeps time correctly when they can't even get the day right LOL
