I've always been curious as to what synth was used in 'Transmission' that made that vox sound. Does anyone know? Regards, SYNTHMANhttp://www.myspace.com/richardgarethsteed

Very nice. But it doesn't really answer my question does it mate? I thought at first that it could've been the Vocoder 330 but im not sure.

Good question. Never really thought about it before as the Transcendent and Arp seem to be the only synths referenced in the musical history of JD and it's clearly neither of them. Must have belonged to Hannett whatever it was.

Not the greatest detail ever provided in the world 'Synthman' .... What version of 'Transmission' are you referring to ? If its the standard 7" version, is it the choral sound at the start as the bass comes in, or the single sounding note that is played almost throughout the song ? (if so, it could be a treated guitar or FX in both cases) If its the RCA version from May '78 ... the arpeggiated synth sounds were added as an after thought without the bands involvement

I'm talking about the VOX sound at the beginning of the song. You know, the synth pad or vocal pad with reverb or whatever it is. What synth was that? Yes actually, the choral sound...what synth did that come from?
