Hi, All

First post for me here!
Yesterday I bought Closer from a used record store in barcelona. I am now trying to see if its an official release or a bootleg.

I looked at the discography of the site. On the sleeve backside (right lower corner)it says: distributed by estudio eldorado ltda and licensed by stiletto. (also on the label of the vinyl itself). This was also posted in the discography, so it could be official but the vinyl itself is green/yellowish and there is no mention of that on the site. So I am kinda confused
The matrix on the record is FACLP 25 A-1/B-1
anybody have any idea if its a bootleg or not?

Thank you
greetings

Erik

Hello, and welcome!

I'm afraid the Closer LP you bought is a fake. What you got is a recent pirate issue available in bright green or yellow/mustard vinyl, there may well be other colours too. The bootleggers seemingly copied some information from the 1980s Brazilian issue, they also put the band name on the front cover and the song titles on the back which you won't find on an original pressing. As you noticed we've not had time to add this to the site yet.

There are no official colour vinyl pressings, but original UK and US pressings exist on translucent coloured vinyl. These look black unless you hold them up to a strong light.

If you're unhappy with your purchase and thought you were buying an official release you should take it back and ask for a refund.

Last JD buy for me was one of these from Primark!

I've got the JD documentary on order from Amazon, but they're out of stock at the moment, I think.

Latest purchase for me was the soul of Chriss Hewitt ....

It had been prostituted around to all and sundry .... had been on Ebay .... but was clearly original .... not a copy or made to look like an original .... even had its own numbered paperwork to prove its authenticity.

The Peel Sessions (marble/blue vinyl)
Day of the Lords (clear vinyl)

i wanted to post 'cause i was really giving up hope to see them emerge from my postgirl bag...

Ah, but they've printed the graph image too large. Saville's stroke of genius was to keep it little on the sleeve. Just compare it to the "in your face" graphics on the Warsaw bootleg LP...

The same goes for this T-shirt. I don't like the fact that the waves are all over it.

Box File, eh? Now that does take me back awhile. Don't believe I'd started shaving when I picked up my copy. Nice one, Struutter.

The vinyl version of 'Testament' was a very attractive package, somehow wish I'd picked it up now...but at the time was getting sorely cheesed off with throwing coin at Mr Bootlegger for the same tired old gear.

my latest was.....& this nearly struck me into downright poverty.....three,yes three JD-BUTTONS...
....an euro a pop with another euro for postage!had to quit the 'tabs' to make it over the rounds!a very harsh economical depression we're enduring in europe, making the 30ties black friday looking like a snoozy pick-nick!....but at least i can suffer in style whilst the zombies around me glaze in envy at my button blazing lapel!

Talkin of buttons...am still after FAC 21, that gorgeous piece of maroon enamel with the Fractured Music italic f logo. And struck by a Leeds badgemaker too, I believe. Still live in hopes of turning one up on the Thursday outdoor market but jack shite thus far.

Been collecting closer and UP cassettes. Closer - have UK, France, Poland Spain USA and Italy. Up got UK, France Italy Spain and USA. Oddly on the French sleeve the image is reversed. Also nice items recently acquired are closer up and still linen box cassettes from 1985.
